The Château de Belcier is located just beyond Saint Emilion on a land of many traditions: the Côtes de Castillon, which is one on the oldest wine-growing areas around Bordeaux.

67 hectares, Merlot (the main grape variety of Saint Emilion wines) for the major part, but also Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.

Recommended by Michel Rolland, the most famous wine maker/taster in the world.

The Château de Belcier was built at the end of the 18th century. For many years it belonged to a Bordeaux family, relations of the Montaignes, and was rebuilt in part by François de Belcier, a counterrevolutionary who was guillotined in 1794.

This 1780s Chateau is classic in style and marked by triangular pediments. It overlooks the beautiful landscape of the Salles de Castillon, a mixture of vines and woodlands.

The property now belongs to the MACIF, a mutual insurance company, and has regained its former splendour anew.
