The second wine:

The Château de Belcier produces a second wine, which is available with two different labels:

The Château de Monrecueil and the B de Belcier.

This second wine is also aged in oak barrels for a total production of 40,000 bottles. It is bottled into heavy bottles.

It is fleshy and fruity, but a little suppler than the Château de Belcier, it is therefore ready to drink sooner.

Since the 1998 vintage it has been awarded 10 medals:
3 Gold Medals (Concours général européen and national Vinalies), 4 Silver Medals (Brussels, Mâcon, Shanghai), 3 Bronze Medals (Japan Wine Challenge, Paris, Vignerons Indépendants).

The special reserve:
The Château de Belcier also produces a very special reserve: The Pin de Belcier. Only very few bottles (5,000) are produced. Its technical data is as follows:

- Total area: 2 hectares.
- Grape varieties: 80 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet-Franc.
- Average age of the vines: 30 years.
- Soil: argilo-calcareous.
- Vine growing and care: double G pruning, de-budding, removing base buds, thinning at daybreak in July, green harvest.
- Harvesting: manual into the trays and then sorted in the cellar.
- Yield per hectare: 25 hectolitres.
- Winemaking process: total de-stemming, 30 days
- Ageing: in oak barrels 100% new
- Type of bottle: Bordeaux ‘terroir’ bottle
- Packaging: wooden cases.

Since the 1998 vintage, the Pin de Belcier has been awarded 10 medals and has 21 mentions in specialised press and guidebook:
6 Gold Medals
(Bordeaux, Mâcon, Brussels, Bourg-Blaye), 4 Silver Medals (Brussels, national Vinalies and Vinalies Internationales, and independent wine makers).

2 stars in the Guide Hachette, 88-90 by Robert Parker

Mentioned on a regular basis in:
Wine Spectator, Decanter, the Revue du Vin de France, the Guide Hubert, the Grand Jury International etc..

The Château de Belcier is also available with another label: the Armoiries de Belcier

Since the 2002 vintage, it has obtained 9 medals:
1 Gold Medal (Brussels), 3 Silver Medals (Brussels, Shanghai, Vinalies Internationales), 5 Bronze Medals (London, Japan, Mundus Vini)

The Château de Belcier is generally packaged in standard boxes, but can also be packaged in 3, 6 or 12 bottle wooden cases, or in the very beautiful 12-bottle flat wooden cases: the Ecrin de Belcier.

Full bottles, half-bottles, magnums, double-magnums and impériales of Château de Belcier are available.

We hope that you will soon be enjoying the Château de Belcier’s wonderful wines.
